Education and Degrees

Dr. Peker received his medical degree from the Hacettepe University and graduated from the Hacettepe University Neurosurgery residency program in 1993. After working in some clinics in Ankara, Alanya and İstanbul, Dr. Peker joined the faculty of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the Marmara University in May 1999 and later was named chief of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. He did his gamma knife radiosurgery fellowship in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and pain surgery and movement disorder surgery fellowship in Oregon Health Sciences University.Dr Peker joined the Acibadem Health Group in 2005. He now serves as  Professor of Neurosurgery in Acibadem University Department of Neurosurgery. He is the chief of Gamma knife radiosurgery center and Movement Disorder Surgery program.

His work in stereotactic radiosurgery spans the breadth of that field including studies in cerebral vascular malformations, benign and malignant brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, epilepsy, and movement disorders.

Dr. Peker has published 109 articles in refereed journals. He performed 181 presentations in International and National Meetings.
